This position is responsiblefor the order entry, order transcription, inter- and intradepartmentalcommunication of the Medical â Telemetry Units. The Unit Secretary playsa key role in ensuring excellent customer satisfaction to our patients,families and visitors. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:transcribes physician orders; center of communication to staff, physician andancillary departments; maintaining unit logs, records; and the ordering of unitsupplies. In addition, the Monitor Techs ensure the accurate monitoringof cardiac patients.
One year experience as a Unit Secretary. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for staff with strong educational background in medical terminology and computer skills.
Successful completion of an EKG Course
Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider must be completed within 90 days of hire.
Health Unit Coordinator Course
High School graduate or equivalent
Manual dexterity required for typing duties
Must be able to sit for long periods; stand, reach, bend, and stoop.
