JCA Personnel has been retained by Southwest Medical Center to identify candidates for their open Director of Human Resources position. The Director of Human Resources administers the day to day functions of Human Resources Department, Employee Health/Workers Compensation departments in accordance with established polices of the institution and with current Federal, State, and local regulations. He/She serves as liaison to facility personnel. The Director oversees the fair and equitable treatment is provided to all applicants and employees alike. Supervises the compensation and benefits functions for the facility and ensuring commensurable wages and benefits. Further, the Director participates in the organization wide Performance Improvement and as directed, implements actions recommended by the Performance Improvement teams and the organization wide Performance Improvement Committee. Promotes Southwest Medical Center’s image and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients, and visitors. Responsible for preparing, submitting, and maintaining the departments budget. Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services and that govern the operation of the facility. Responsible for ensuring that the HR and Employee Health/Workers Compensation departments are sufficiently staffed with competent employees. The HR Director will also be responsible for completing and submitting rounding reports to the CEO. Those reports include Senior Leader Rounding Report; Rounding on Staff Log; and the Stop Light Report. Further, the HR Director is required to enter timely data reporting for Leader Evaluation Management, (LEM) actions plans as required. Examples of these plans include: Financial, turnover, volunteer hours, etc). Finally, the HR Director is responsible to respond to legal issues that are identified and works in conjunction with SWMC legal counsel and liability insurance carrier for a conclusion.

Certifications: SPHR preferred
Education: Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management
Experience: Five years previous experience in Human Resources profession, most preferably within a hospital or similar healthcare setting. At least two years supervisory experience.
