ASC Administrative Director

Somerset is assisting Southern Surgery Center (“SSC”) in their search for an Administrative Director (AD).

The physicians and staff at Southern Bone and Joint Specialists in Hattiesburg, MS are committed to providing the highest quality musculoskeletal care available in South Mississippi and their ultimate mission is to be the provider of choice for orthopedic surgery and medical care.

The Administrative Director of Nursing is responsible for the day to day operations and reports directly to the CEO of the organization.

AD direct responsibilities include:

• Administration and management of the day to day activities of the surgery center.
• Participate in the financial and cost containment decisions.
• Ensures that SSC meets all related local, state, federal, and accrediting-body rules and regulations
• Serves as Performance Improvement, Infection Control and Risk Manager.
• Responsible for management of all aspects of the environment of care, personnel, materials/equipment, education of personnel, and administrative duties
• Coordinates and directs patient care in SSC according to policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and accepted accreditation standards
• Employs, counsels, and terminates SSC staff as needed. Completes or oversees evaluation process for all employees.
• Assists in providing leadership and direction in the administration of operations to ensure compliance with established organizational objectives and the delivery of optimal quality health care services

A track record of successfully managing the operations of an ASC, or health care entity is essential, as is possession of the leadership skills to guide and motivate members of the staff. A bachelor's or master's degree in nursing and/or healthcare business administration is preferred. ASC experience is required. Prior medical group practice experience and orthopedic group experience would be ideal. Strong leaders with high-level communication, analytical and leadership skills are encouraged to apply.
