The Medical Assistant (MA) works under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager and director. The MA works under the direction of the RN Case Manager. He/she provides direct care for clinic patients with wounds, ostomies and urinary catheters, as well as general duties to assist professional staff. The MA may prepare patients for care, assist patients with limited mobility, as well as perform specific procedures with appropriate orientation and supervision. The MA follows all hospital policies and procedures and clinic wound care guidelines. He/she complies with hospital and nursing standards while performing job duties and responsibilities. He/she will demonstrate competence in these minimum performance standards through the ability to perform tasks including but not limited to the common examples listed with each performance standard.
Qualifications: Mandatory: Possession of valid Medical Assistant Certificate or equivalent (i.e., EMT, CHT, etc.) Valid BLS card for Healthcare Provider
