The Swedish Cancer Institute (SCI) is recruiting an accomplished national leader in thoracic medical oncology to head and further develop both a clinical and clinical research program in thoracic medical oncology. SCI is devoted to providing cancer patients with the most comprehensive treatment options and innovative therapies available, and is the largest NCI designated NCORP site, with over 41 participating affiliates across multiple states for this 13 million, 6-year grant. In 2019 Swedish was awarded a "Platinum Certificate of Excellence" for our Treatment & Cancer Control Trials high enrollment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the design and conduct of early phase therapeutic trials in thoracic medical oncology, translational research and molecular oncology, along with a record of successful grant and/or contract support for clinical research. Partnering with 5 thoracic surgeons, 2 interventional pulmonologists, a robust lung cancer prevention program, and a radiation oncology group that has pioneered many significant therapeutic advances, the candidate will lead thoracic medical oncology efforts across our multi-site cancer institute. SCI is a part of the Providence Health System, and the leader of thoracic medical oncology will have the opportunity to partner across the span of this seven-state entity to enhance trial accrual and collaborative efforts.
