JOB SUMMARY

The Coder III is responsible for coordinating, performing and completing chart audits for Medicare compliancy. Coding consists of outpatient services in office, hospital outpatient and inpatient services including procedures. To ensure and monitor that coders provide technical aspects of the assignment diagnostic and procedure codes are carried out in accordance with established standards and in compliance with CMS, NCQA and other regulatory agencies, and Tenet policy.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.

• High School Diploma required
• Requires 2-3 years of experience with outpatient physician coding
• Healthcare background is required
• CPT current competence with ICD- 10, ICD-9, CPT-4, and HCPCS
• Coding scheme and reimbursement practices required
• CPC certification is required
• CCS-P certification is required Competent with NT/MS Office, and Excel required
• Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment
