Under supervision, uses positive interpersonal relationship skills. Responsible for continuous monitoring of all the Orthopedics/Neuroscience Unit areas and must report to the Registered Nurse (RN) staff any changes in rhythm.
Essential Job Outcomes & Functions
Responsible for continuous monitoring of all telemetry patients to detect and immediately report any changes in the patients’ basic cardiac rhythm to the appropriate nursing personnel.
Responsible for reporting any significant changes to the RN immediately.
Print a strip and measure intervals on each monitored patient at time intervals determined by RN, per policy
Maintain set alarm parameters as delegated by the RN.
Document all admissions and discharges of monitored patients in the log book.
Initiates and develops communication to promote a cohesive health care environment and facilitate effective working relationships. Communicates clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
Manages the work environment to maintain a safe work place and cost-effective practice.
Completes age specific competency requirements of assigned department
Performs other related duties as required to assist with the smooth operation of assigned area.
