Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group is seeking a Medical Director, Population Health and Post-Acute Care.

In conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer and Sharp Rees-Stealy Division leadership, the Medical Director serves as the physician leader of strategic programs designed to improve clinical outcomes through coordination of clinical operations, information systems, administrative departments, physician leadership, and physician practices.  The individual will develop, plan, and implement programs to support quality improvement strategies, disease management programs, population health initiatives, and care coordination through the continuum of care.  The Medical Director is responsible for measurable improvements in clinical quality as defined by external metrics and internally defined metrics.   

The individual must possess excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.  Flexible and dynamic, a creative problem solver, this self-starting candidate will exhibit a high level of professionalism, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, that allows them to lead and work effectively with a team of dynamic and unique individuals. The position also requires an ability to drive performance improvement efforts and expert data acumen. 

Key Qualification:

1. California licensed, board-certified physician
2. Experience in a leadership position required with a minimum of 5 years in clinical practice.
3. Must have experience managing geriatric patients
4. Understanding of external reporting agencies such as CMS, IHA AMP (Integrated Healthcare Association, Align. Measure. Perform.) , and health plans as well as regulatory bodies such as DMHC (Dept. of Managed Health Care).
5. Knowledge and experience in managed care organizations including familiarity with quality improvement, utilization management and disease management.
6. Proven ability to manage performance improvement projects in quality, utilization or disease management.
7. Superior negotiation, diplomacy and meeting facilitation skills.
8. Strong results orientation with ability to oversee practical, solution-driven initiatives and human resource processes that add value to the business and patient care.
9. Outstanding communication skills with the ability to develop relationships and trust among key stakeholders.
