Occ Summary
Manage and supervise functions of assigned inpatient and outpatient therapy settings, ensuring effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures. Assess the clinical needs based on customer feedback (e.g., physicians, patients) and develop programs to meet the needs. Assists Director of PT & OT with strategic planning, program development, personnel management and fiscal planning.
Work Performed
Manage, supervise and coordinate delivery of patient care for assigned therapy settings. Ensure compliance with clinical patient care standards, regulatory requirements and established policies and procedures. Actively support and promote a professional clinical model that encourages staff participation in the development of clinical standards. Assist Director of PT& OT with strategic planning for the department. Plan, schedule and organize work for employee groups ensuring proper distribution of assignment sand efficient utilization of personnel, space and facilities; overall accountability for the requisition, care and maintenance of therapy area inventory, equipment and supplies. Coordinate the activities of the physical therapy and occupational therapy staff with other hospital personnel as necessary; accountable for the effective and efficient operation of the therapy area and staff including ensuring that physician orders, treatment, plans of care and clinical pathways are being carried out in a manner supportive of patient care. Ensure documentation of patient care is complete and accurate in accordance with hospital and department policies and procedures. Collaborate with the Director of Physical Therapy &Occupational Therapy and others as appropriate to determine fiscal requirements of assigned areas, and prepare budgetary recommendations. Monitor the level of resources utilized in service delivery and determine the appropriateness of resource consumption for assigned areas. Develop action plan in conjunct ion with the Director to ensure balance among budget neutrality, resource completes proper documentation in order to appropriately process, bill efficiency and satisfaction with patient care delivery. Ensure that staff and collect payments for outpatient services. Collaborate with the PRMO staff in order to identify, resolve and re-define billing and collection processes to ensure proper payment for services. Assess, coach and evaluate staff level of competence. Develop programs that foster continued growth and development of staff. Maintain required records, reports and statistics f or administrative, quality assurance, safety, and infection control purposes. Communicate requirements to staff, and holds staff accountable to established requirements. Coordinate the development, implementation and e valuation of departmental or therapy area policies and procedures designed to improve operational efficiency. Oversee various personnel actions including but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, terminations and other related activities. Interface with patients, families and physicians to ensure that care is consistent with their expectations. Facilitate resolution to customer services issues. Develop clinical programs based on performing assessment of needs within the organization. Coordinate CQI activities with appropriate staff. Serve as a professional role model and mentor to staff by responding positively to change while supporting colleagues through the change process.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Required: Graduate from an accredited Masters or Doctorate program in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Pathology, or Audiology.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years administrative leadership and 4 years of relevant clinical practice experience, or equivalent combination.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Current North Carolina licensure and any applicable certification/registry to practice Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Pathology, or Audiology.
