ARTC is located in Anchorage, Alaska and is the largest radiation therapy center in the state. We have two Elekta Infinity Linacs, a Gamma Knife, HDR, CT Sim, and Monaco treatment planning system, all on Mosaic. We have four board certified physicians, five physicists, three dosimetrists, front office, nurses and medical assistants, medical records personnel and our own billing team. We treat about 450 new patients per year. We also have a satellite clinic in Wasilla (45 minutes from Anchorage) that treats about 150 patients per year.
Essential Functions
Serve as the primary director of clinical operations.
Work collaboratively with the Medical Director of the contract physician group to identify, execute and evaluate patient care model, policies, procedures, etc.
Develop and implement organizational policies and procedures in regards to physics, therapy and patient care.
Establish objectives and evaluative or operational criteria for functional units/departments.
Identify and propose opportunities for clinical and technological expansion. Collaborate with physics and physician group regarding the obselesence of and procurement of emerging technology.
Inspect facilities, equipment and machinery and recommend modifications to ensure optimum patient care, emergency readiness, safety, and sanitation compliance.
Provides administrative oversight to the daily operations of the clinics.
Ensures standards of patient care.
Understands and works toward meeting current regulatory standards.
Anticipates physician needs.
Addresses problems involving personnel; communicates solutions to appropriate staff members.
Defines the overall purpose of the clinics in accordance with clinic’s best interests and goals in mind.
Ensures smooth daily operations and steady progress towards established clinic goals.
Plans and operates within the approved budget.
Assist with appropriate coding and billing for all services provided to patients and maintain a working knowledge of updates to medical billing and coding.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provide leadership, mentorship and guidance to direct reports.
Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of direct reports. Identify, articulate and monitor progress against standards of behavior and performance. Address any personnel issues to promote a productive and supportive work environment.
Ensure that direct reports are properly trained and have the tools necessary to perform the work.
Encourage ongoing learning; create and promote educational opportunities whenever possible.
Propose recruitment, hiring, and firing decisions.
Coordinate staff schedules, leave, etc.; this would include forecasting and making necessary adjustments.
Participates in evaluation, identification, monitoring and management of operational and, if needed, capital budgets.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a typical office setting, with frequent contact with staff and patients.
Work is subject to many interruptions.
May be exposed to radiation and strong magnetic fields.
May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
Frequent travel between centers and within city is required.
Some out of state travel is required.
Experience
No less than five (5) years of clinical management experience.
Education, Certification and Licensure
Compliance with annual immunization requirements.
Physical Requirements
Work requires long periods of sitting, typing, and/or viewing written or digital reports and data.
